The First Car Dealership Visit
-You may have scheduled an appointment...but don't count on the salesperson being prepared for the meeting.

Ideally, upon your arrival the car would be ready for a test drive and the salesman prepared for the trade appraisal.

Even if they agreed to help you at a certain time, that doesn’t mean that they scheduled it into an appointment calendar.

Keep in mind, most car salesmen rely on their wits to sell cars on a day-to-day basis. Even if they agreed to help you at a certain time, that doesn’t mean that they scheduled it into an appointment calendar. Therefore, it is a good idea to reconfirm the meeting one hour before the appointment.

During the confirmation call you must restate the time-line and your agenda, (the test drive and trade appraisal).  Otherwise when you arrive, it will take an hour just to get started.

Remember that salesman rely entirely on commission.  Therefore, if another opportunity presents itself, you should expect the salesman to jump on it and miss your scheduled appointment. Do not be surprised or upset if this happens; just firmly restate your time restraints with the next salesperson.
